Altamont Theatre and Apartments

An 1880’s building in downtown Asheville is home to the Altamont Theatre and Apartments. The main floor houses a black-box theater and venue space seating about 220 people. The lower level features a lobby with gallery space for artwork, a small bar and restrooms, and theater support spaces including dressing rooms and a green room. The top two floors house six apartments as short-term rentals. A two-story addition at the back of the building provides the support space to the theater. The building has been renovated under strict guidelines to qualify for historic-preservation tax credits as well as the stringent guidelines for the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification for sustainability.
